I can understand why others are shocked at the price versus "quality," but I own 8 of these (tops and bottoms) and would own 100 if I could. I adore them. I LOVE that they are whisper thin and fit so comfortably under turtlenecks at the office--in fact, I wear one of these tops every single day in t... Read More

I've been buying these for years because they are an extremely lightweight, comfortable and form-fitting way to keep warm in winter and a fashionably sheer and attractive top to wear over camis in warmer weather. (They come in white and a very light pink as well as black and fuchsia.) They are a year-round staple, with consistently exceptional high quality. I've never detected any of the blemishes they mention, but I appreciate their status as seconds so that the price is considerably lower than otherwise.

I took one of these on a trip to the Arctic, wore it every day and washed it out in the sink every night. I had no trouble with snags, tears, or inferior fabric. It is listed as '2nds' so perhaps that was the problem others encountered. I loved it and am buying another

I was looking for a very thin, silk top to wear while I'm riding my bike in summer. It gets pretty warm here, but I am really hesitant to ride without long sleeves and pants because if I fall, I'd rather the shirt take the road rash than my skin! It also helps a bit with reducing sunburn, but not a whole lot. Silk is a very strong, natural fiber that breathes and wicks sweat well. I don't like to wear synthetic fibers and they tend to get very hot. I ordered the bright pink color to aid in visibility on the road. This shirt was perfect. I wear a sports bra underneath, so it really doesn't matter if it's a bit sheer. I will probably buy more to wear in winter for layering. Yes, it was a little pricey, but it's silk!

This under layer is perfect! It keeps you insulated and cozy even under your most body conscious attire! Won't spend another fall or winter without them!

I have been wearing these for years in the U.S. in the wintertime. Now we spend a good deal of time in Ecuador, where the weather is never really cold and never really hot. However, none of the houses in Ecuador have heat, and it can get chilly inside one's home, or on rainy days. Just wearing the silk underwear under a blouse with a light jacket is enough to keep you warm, without the bulkiness of heavier garments.

The only problem that I have had with theist tops is that they wear out in the same place every time, where the bone of my bra touches the side of the underwear top. I wish they would reinforce that area. Otherwise, these tops are perfect.

  • Question “What exactly is "pointelle"?”
Asked on 4/29/2013 4:08:10 PM by dc from Harrisburg, PA
    • Answer Pointelle is a feminine, delicate-looking pattern that adds texture and interest to rib-knit fabrics. Pointelle stitches can take the form of chevrons, geometric shapes or floral themes and can be intermittent design elements or comprise an entire garment, as in pointelle underwear..

  • Question “What does "2nds" mean?”
Asked on 1/16/2013 12:00:00 AM by belle from bellevue,wa
    • Answer What are the differences among closeouts, overstocks, and 2nds?|• Closeouts: may be last year's model or color, yet always first hand quality. |• Overstocks: arises when our inventory is too high, and needs to be drastically reduced - always first hand quality. |• 2nds: Minor cosmetic blemishes or irregulars which do not affect the fit, performance, or longevity of the item. Label is usually clipped by the manufacturer. A small flaw means big savings.

    • Answer Regular neck for the long sleeve top. They do make a cami style top that has a lower cut neck line. And also a tank top which is also a bit lower cut.

    • Answer The Terramar Sport Silks Long Underwear Shirt will have some stretch to it.
Answered on 12/30/2011 12:00:00 AM by Prod. Spec. Ryan from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer No, it isn't very stretchy, but it is so lightweight that I don't feel constricted when wearing it.

    • Answer Yes they are somewhat. When you first put them on they are more fitted and after wearing them they become a little baggier, not bad though. They are very very light weight (thin).

    • Answer I think they are lightweight and stretchy enough to wear under my scrubs as a nurse! (And I move around A LOT!) I don't feel they constrict or "pull" at all. I would recommend ordering up a size if you are looking for more than a little stretch, however, but these are great in my opinion and do the job fine.

    • Answer It certainly isn't like Spandex, but there is definitely some stretch to this silk garment. It does not bind, and the fit is not real snug.

    • Answer Don't know in inches, but the length is adequate for all but very long arms: I have sort of long arms and the sleeves comes to my wrists. I wish it was a tad longer on the torso, though. I get the large size leggings b/c my legs are REALLY long and I hate it when there's exposed skin.
