When I moved to the high Colorado mountains four years ago, I quickly discovered the need for long underwear worn daily November through March. I've tried lots of different brands and thicknesses, and have decided the Terramar Silks are my "go to" daily long johns. The light weight makes me forget I have them on under other clothes, while keeping me comfortable. If you use them daily like I do, they will wear out and get holes and runs, but the comfort level makes it worth it. I usually go through two tops and two bottoms a year, and throw them out in May after ordering replacements for the next season. Sierra Trading Post makes this a small price to pay for all-winter comfort.

I just ordered more of these. I love them because they are really thin and fit under all my shirts. They are comfortable and work well. The only drawback is that they don't hold up well in a washing machine. Hand washing would be best.

This is my second silk long underwear top. I was pleased to find this with a deal flyer discount since I found myself wearing this shirt under everything this past winter in AL. I originally received a set while serving in Korea. Perfect base layer because it is so thin, but extremely warm, they can be worn under any clothing without added bulk. I will wear the older one under workout wear for walking in the winter now that I have a new one. Great shirt.

Pointelle is a feminine, delicate-looking pattern that adds texture and interest to rib-knit fabrics. Pointelle stitches can take the form of chevrons, geometric shapes or floral themes and can be intermittent design elements or comprise an entire garment, as in pointelle underwear..

Question
“What does "2nds" mean?”
Asked on 1/16/2013 12:00:00 AM by belle from bellevue,wa
Answer
What are the differences among closeouts, overstocks, and 2nds?|• Closeouts: may be last year's model or color, yet always first hand quality. |• Overstocks: arises when our inventory is too high, and needs to be drastically reduced - always first hand quality. |• 2nds: Minor cosmetic blemishes or irregulars which do not affect the fit, performance, or longevity of the item. Label is usually clipped by the manufacturer. A small flaw means big savings.

“Many reviewers said the fit is loose. What is the width, immediately below the arms, of a size M and an S? Please give product width, not size chart.”

Answer
Regular neck for the long sleeve top. They do make a cami style top that has a lower cut neck line. And also a tank top which is also a bit lower cut.

Question
“Is the fabric stretchy? I am wondering because I had a silk base layer before and it didn't give when I moved, so I always felt like it was pulling.”
Asked on 12/29/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
Answer
The Terramar Sport Silks Long Underwear Shirt will have some stretch to it.

Answer
No, it isn't very stretchy, but it is so lightweight that I don't feel constricted when wearing it.

Answer
Yes they are somewhat. When you first put them on they are more fitted and after wearing them they become a little baggier, not bad though. They are very very light weight (thin).

Answer
I think they are lightweight and stretchy enough to wear under my scrubs as a nurse! (And I move around A LOT!) I don't feel they constrict or "pull" at all. I would recommend ordering up a size if you are looking for more than a little stretch, however, but these are great in my opinion and do the job fine.

Answer
It certainly isn't like Spandex, but there is definitely some stretch to this silk garment. It does not bind, and the fit is not real snug.

Question
“What is the back length on a small and a medium?”
Asked on 12/10/2010 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Grand Rapids, MI
Answer
Don't know in inches, but the length is adequate for all but very long arms: I have sort of long arms and the sleeves comes to my wrists. I wish it was a tad longer on the torso, though. I get the large size leggings b/c my legs are REALLY long and I hate it when there's exposed skin.

From the shoulder seam a size S has a 22" sleeve and a M has a 22.5" sleeve.
