It took him a bit to get comfortable with it, but now he doesn't even notice it. I ordered a small for my 55lb shepherd mix and it fits well. I would like a bit more padding on the front strap, but overall I'm very happy with the product.

I was very surprised at the quality of this bag, it is really well made. It's adjustable and easy to put on and take off. There's plenty of room for food, bowl , little blanket, water, and a toy. Louis loves wearing it too, I think it makes him feel like he's got an important mission.

I read the reviews about it running large, so ordered a small for my lab-mix (60lbs). It fit her very well, never shifted after being positioned, whether empty or full, but was not tight. Interesting change in this female lab mix who is hyperactive. She calms down, keeps right beside me without any commands, and seems to enjoy having a purpose. Bought this because I saw Cesar Millan say on his program that packpacks help calm them, and he is completely right. We use it even on short walks. No chafing, which I was concerned about. To get her used to it, I let her wear it around the house and yard for a few hours. After that, no problem. Easy to put on and take off.

Read the other reviews and pay attention to sizing. Go smaller. I ordered a small for my 50# plus terrier mix and it fits perfectly.

Good quality pack. The buckles that came on mine held up to some lunges from a 40-lb pup, though other reviewers seem to have not been so lucky. The D-ring or whatever it was that attaches the leash to the pack DID snap on the first outing though, and while a little inconvenient, it was easily replaced with a stronger attachment. Straps didn't seem to irritate underbelly or anything on our pooch after our initial 5-mile hike, and I'm definitely satisfied with the pack overall. Oh yeah, as others have sad, this pack runs huge.
