When I first got them I wondered whether they would fit but these things strech in all direction so the fit was perfect! Can't wait for the next cold winter day!

Reviewed by Sail or Ski? from Massachusetts on Friday, March 08, 2013I have found a perfect replacement for my 25 yr. old Patagonia fleece tights. These are warmer by themselves, but can also be worn under an extra layer for New England winter skiing. Also comfy under chaps for winter indoor horseback riding. Sizing is not truly unisex. I bought two pair in different sizes and the smaller ones fit OK, but the regular size ones are a bit more comfortable to move in.

Reviewed by Eddie the speedskater from New York on Sunday, March 03, 2013I have a couple of pairs of the prior Black Diamond tights. I use them for speed skating. The 4-way stretch is great - no resistance. They looked too small but they stretch so easily that the fit was perfect except the ankles were a little high and a little loose. The new double diamond corrected both problems. In addition, the fabric is slightly thicker - stretch is not noticeably reduced. I have tried them on, but not yet worn them for skating. But the prior model provided significantly more warmth then other brands of brushed tights (these are fleece, not brushed). I would have given the previous model a very high rating, this gets the highest.

They feel like a second skin and move right with your body. I find them to be excellent outdoor gear! Of course Black Diamond is hard to beat especially at these great prices!

Answer Machine wash gentle in cold and hang to dry. They don't shrink but the color will run so wash them separately the first time.

Answer Yes, these look like leggings. They are thick enough to wear alone, and are reasonably wind resistant. I have worn them both alone, and as a base layer for horseback riding.
