This is my second pair of Asolo's, my first pair I have had for 10 years. The soles have worn out but the upper portion is still in good shape. This new pair shows all the makings of getting me through another 10 years. With my job I hike a lot, over various terrain in and out of water and muck a... Read More

The boot fits true to size and appears to be well built. Needs to be broken in, very stiff. Good ankle support.

Boots run true to size. Ordered a half size bigger to fit my custom orthotics. Weekly hiker from 12-25 miles. First time wore them on a seven mile walk/hike. Both ankles were sore where the fold of the tongue rubbed also a small blister on little toe. May take more miles to break them in. Will also learn which way to lace them for the most comfort. Liked the sole. No problem with bottoms of feet being sore from rocks/roots. Have not tried them on water crossings yet.

After my first pair of FSN 70 GTX Asolo boots finally died on me after TEN YEARS (the heel on the left boot started disintegrating but the rest of the boots were perfectly fine), I decided to stick with the brand that took me through so many hikes in many different countries. I've already had the Atlantis for a month or so and I've been breaking them in on some local hikes. As soon as I put them on they felt very sturdy and well-constructed. I feel they need a bit of breaking in since I had a right heel rub at the end of a three-hour hike but that in no way should deter anyone from buying these boots. Been through snow, water and mud and they've held up great. Can't wait to see where they take me for the next 10 years!

I have weak ankles and properly laced, these are so supportive and yet roomy and comfortable in the toe box. Went on a 5 mile hike right out of the box and no problems. I would recommend wearing with a thicker quality hiking sock. I ordered my regular size and though they felt big they have worked well for me. They also seem to be ok for wearing in the warmer weather of the desert which was a concern because they don't look that breathable. Granted, it is winter and I have not tested at 100+. I have also not tested how waterproof they are.

We are going on a trekking vacation and I am trying out a lot of boots and so far these are the best.

This is the second pair I bought from Sierra Trading Post of these. I was used to more moderate hiking boots in the past, the kind that feel great out of the box but six months later need to be replaced. I wasn't looking for a backpacking boot but one I would wear on my walks with my three dogs during spring and fall in Vermont. I wanted great ankle support and waterproof boots and found it in these. They did take a while to break in and I had to deal with some pressure on the top of my toes where the boot creases during a walking stride until they molded to my feet. Experimented with different thickness socks to compensate during this time. Overall I am satisfied with the boot, the way it has saved my ankle several times from twisting and how it has kept my feet dry in some very wet, rainy and muddy conditions. Plus no stink like some other boots I have owned get.
