This is my second pair of Asolo's, my first pair I have had for 10 years. The soles have worn out but the upper portion is still in good shape. This new pair shows all the makings of getting me through another 10 years. With my job I hike a lot, over various terrain in and out of water and muck a... Read More

Fresh out of the box I took these on a 5 mile hike straight up a mountain. I had about a 15lb pack. They did really well! I had traction all of the way and all the way down. The way down included some steep muddy patches, but I didn't slip at all. it might have something to do with the ASOLObrake that they have on the bottom of them, or it could have just been the chunky tread. AND on the way down my toes didn't jam to the front! I was really impressed with the lace up system, I felt that my ankles were very well supported. I wore some think wool socks with them and I felt like I could fit some thicker ones in there, but it wasn't uncomfortable with that extra wiggle room. The temperature was about 45F and my feet didn't get cold or too hot, they stayed just right. I look forward to trying these out on more hikes!

i've tried on more boots than i care to admit, and finally i found these and they seem like a good fit. they are comfortable, sturdy but not too heavy, and i trust the gortex will hold up. i've only taken them on a short hike, but felt no problems! a little bit of a noticeable break over the top of my toes - but i'm thinking this won't be as noticeable after i break them in a bit more. theyre also nice roomy toe box in comparison to other models of asolos i have tried on/owned in the past which is something i really appreciate.

4 stars only because i haven't adequately used them yet to warrant 5 stars. i'll update after some real usage!

The boot fits true to size and appears to be well built. Needs to be broken in, very stiff. Good ankle support.

Boots run true to size. Ordered a half size bigger to fit my custom orthotics. Weekly hiker from 12-25 miles. First time wore them on a seven mile walk/hike. Both ankles were sore where the fold of the tongue rubbed also a small blister on little toe. May take more miles to break them in. Will also learn which way to lace them for the most comfort. Liked the sole. No problem with bottoms of feet being sore from rocks/roots. Have not tried them on water crossings yet.

After my first pair of FSN 70 GTX Asolo boots finally died on me after TEN YEARS (the heel on the left boot started disintegrating but the rest of the boots were perfectly fine), I decided to stick with the brand that took me through so many hikes in many different countries. I've already had the Atlantis for a month or so and I've been breaking them in on some local hikes. As soon as I put them on they felt very sturdy and well-constructed. I feel they need a bit of breaking in since I had a right heel rub at the end of a three-hour hike but that in no way should deter anyone from buying these boots. Been through snow, water and mud and they've held up great. Can't wait to see where they take me for the next 10 years!
