Wonderful shoes! I use them at the beach, working at a coffee shop, walking, hiking, outdoor work, and more! Trendy, comfy and great for summer. They required just a bit of break in for a day or two and needed to adjust the straps to prevent any rubbing, but after than small little hurdle, it's been...

I have worn Teva sandals for years. Over the Winter I used kitty litter in my garage so that I would not fall. Unfortunately it ate into the leather of the shoes. I now use them for bedroom slippers because I like the high arches. It is very difficult for me to find narrow shoes with high arches. These sandals fit the bill. Now that I am older I need a larger size.

I haven't been able to wear these outside yet since I live in, ahem, Boston but they seem incredibly sturdy and seem to have nice arch support, which I need. There is a heel strap and a front buckle as well as the 'shoelaces,' all which can fine tune the fit. So I think once the snow melts I will enjoy them!

I have not worn these in chlorinated pools, but in fresh water and salt water. I think salt water is pretty caustic on footwear, don't you? If that is so, then they should be just as durable for water aerobics. And the prices are so great at Sierra Trading, you can buy two pairs for the retail price of one easy!

There is a portion that goes down in the back, but it is not totally enclosed as there are two vents on either side of it. It should be enough to allow an orthotic in though.

It's partially open in the back, as the strap does go around the back of the ankle. I don't know what type of orthotic you have and what you need to make it work. I use a taco for arch support, and I don't believe I had the ability to use it with this sandal. It is a masculine, sturdy shoe.

The back of this shoe is not totally open. There's a shank up the back that the velcro goes on the outside of.

I wear it with orthotics. It is closed back with two cut-outs

The shoe is not totally open in the back. There is backing in the center of the heel with two small openings on the side. If you look at the 'top view' the backing goes all the way down minus the two holes you see in the picture.

These sandals are true to size. I would not recommend going up or down a size. You can wear these with or without socks.

I ordered this shoe in my regular shoe size and it fits fine even with a sock. Length is true to size and it has an adjustable width.|I have a narrow foot but I think it would work for a wider foot as well. Hope you can still order your size. The color combo is perfect for wearing with blue jeans.
