I am 5'2" and ordered the small size. I washed it as soon as I received it and it fits perfectly, reaching my ankles and wrapping totally around for full coverage. It feels cozy and luxurious and I hate to take it off!

I bought a women's size small. Admittedly, I am on the petite side, but at 5'4" the robe goes all the way to the ground. I wonder if unisex sizing is used. On the brighter side, the fabric is substantial and absorbent. The texture of the fabric is like a towel, not like a velour-like texture of a hotel type robe.

I purchased a white robe 2 years ago that was 100% cotton and have been very happy with it but wanted a different color. It shrunk about 1.5" in length but the bottom circumference didn't change. The opposite happened with this robe. The fabric content is 95% cotton/5% poly but it shrank in circumference by 1.5" after one washing in warm water and low heat and the length stayed the same. If it continues to shrink with normal washing I will not have the oversize fit I am looking for.

I don't like velour or many of the other materials that robes are made out of, and as a result, I've worn the same cotton terry robe for about 30 years, I hate to say, and I tend to wear my robes whenever the house is chilly, not so much as bath robes, so they get a lot of wear. The old one finally came to the end of the line, and I looked around for a replacement. These robes are great! Thick and warm and comfortable like my old one, a little long on me since I'm pretty short but that's turned out to be a good thing too. I bought the purple/violet one, and it's a subtle shade, not bright and flashy, and I like that too. Overall, very happy with it.
Back center lengths are measured from the bottom of the collar at the neck hem to the bottom hem.

It is measured from the base of the collar.|Which means it doesn't include the collar width.|These are really long robes. I'm 5'4 and size L touches top of my ankles.

It's actually longer than that. I wanted it to be 53" as that was the length of my previous robe and it was perfect. This one is 56" from the bottom of the collar at the back. I am 5'5" and the medium comes all the way to my ankles.

Mine measures exactly 53 inches from the collar base to the hem. I hope this helps you.

I bought one of these robes--it does not include the collar.

My husband is 6'1" and I am 5'7" we both got this robe from Santa. It is well below knee length, more like ankle length. We wanted that. It does shrink a little bit with the first washing.

probably only a large... it's big. I'm usually a solid size medium but I'm short (I'm by no means tiny) but this thing swims on me and I got a small. There is enough extra material to make my dog a robe!

I ordered the large first and I'm usually size 16. The large robe is so roomy I'm giving it to a heavy set family member and I'll keep the Medium which is the second one I ordered. I definitely would not order extra large!!! I'd try the large first if you like a lot of room. The cost is so reasonale, you can't go wrong having two of these in different colors!! I use Sierra's credit card so the shippingis free!

The L might be just fine, but I'd order the XL if you intend to put it in the dryer since it's cotton.
