I bought this pair of socks for my wife (who is prone to having cold feet then wanting to put those cold feet on me to warm them up...does that mean I actually bought these for myself?...)
Anyways, the sox are great - she tells me they are warm and comfortable and fit perfectly.

I previously bought a pair of these socks from Sierra Trading, in the same size, so I knew they would fit. But, this recent purchase (of two pairs) was disappointing in that the socks have become narrower and longer. So, too long in the foot and not as roomy a fit. After a few wearings, the seam in the heel just split apart and so, after talking to a very helpful customer service representative, I have returned both pairs. How am I going to know now whether I can purchase these in the future, if they alter the size like this?

Fleece socks are always make me warm and cozy, I love them but have one problem usually. Easy to slip off from my foot. These pair of socks have seam around the heel so they don't come off while wearing. I put them on while sleeping ( it may not be supposed to make for that though). They are still stay on my feet as they were when I woke up. The size variation is also good. It became my routine to check these socks every winter.

These are the only socks that will keep my feet truly warm in the winter. However the sizing is a bit questionable. I strongly suggest buying the next size up than what you are because mine split down the side 2 days after I bought them. My actual size (an extra small) proved to be way to tight... So it burst the seams literally.
My shoe size is an 8 1/2-9 but I can't have anything tight around my foot so even though the medium size fleece socks fit I ordered more in large because the medium was a little tight on top of my foot. The large fits more comfortably but has extra toe length in the front (which does not get in the way when walking). That being said I would suggest you get the small if you want a tight close fit inside a shoe because the sock is thick. The only shoes I can wear the socks in are my standard wide crock sandals. The socks do have a stretch but they are sewn close around the top of the foot which affects your foot flexibility. So it would depend on how tight you like your socks. I can't have any tight due to pain. Hope this helps.

The Medium is a 7 ½ to 9 (women's) shoe size.. I wear an 8 ½ to a 9 shoe.. and I do go with the Medium in these size.. the size is wonderful
They are a snug (not strangling) fit.. very cozy, but not a tight fit.
If your typical (women's) shoe size is 7 ½ to 8 the medium should work great for you too. (the small is 5-7 shoe size-- so if you are closer to a 7, and or have narrow feet, you might want to consider the small)
These are not regular socks, they are more lounge style, (alternative to slippers, but do not have traction to them, though I do not find they are "slippery).
They do fine with loose boots, perhaps loose clogs, but i would not use with regular shoes.

Yes, they will. There is a little extra room for a wide foot.

I don't think they would be very good for tall rubber boots. They don't come up that high, and would have your bare leg touching rubber.

LOW, ONLY GOOD IF YOU STUFF YOUR JEANS INSIDE BOOTS. ALSO, NOTHING IS WARM ENOUGH INSIDE MY RUBBER BOOTS ON A COLD DAY.

These sox come up about 3 - 4 inches above your ankle and stop just before your calf. I think they would be great inside rubber boots.

These socks come about half-way up the calf. Would work very well with short rubber boots (they add great warmth for late winter when it is still cold and wet), but higher boots might chafe on bare legs.

A few inches above ankle. I'd say good for slip on boots. Comfy!

I am not a tall person and they hit mid calf

I think it depends on your calf size. On me, they come up mid-way so if you have boots that are to the knee, they would not completely reach it but these socks are so durable and warm that I would try them out.

not quite half way between ankle and knee. for me, the height is perfect and yes, they would be good for rubber boots. just wish I had had them when I was wearing rubber boots. I am diabetic and finding tall socks that will stay up and yet not, squeeze my leg is a treasure. I am not sure how they stay up so well but I can even put my finger in between the sock and my leg, they are so loose. They are great, will never buy any other winter socks again.

Some are higher than others but all are great for rubber boots due to the warmth factor...Great with clogs, mules or any open back shoe...They are about mid calf in either case, I wear my "little (knee length) yellow rubber" boots often when needed in my job or muddy situations in my neighborhood when they are excavating an area...

Definitely. They are warm, but lightweight. I also like that the seams are flat. I love them.

I think they work okay in winter boots or rain boots or any other shoe that is a bit roomy or has laces to adjust how tight it is, but they would be bulky in a regular athletic shoe and certainly would not work with a dress/casual slip on style.
