I love that they come up my leg (and stay there). It does make a difference in the warmth. They are not too thick to wear under boots/shoes, but have comfy thicker padding on the bottom. My calves are medium and they fit tightly, may not work for large calves. My last pair lasted two years. Eventually they will wear and tear, but until then they are great!

Question “can you tell me what are the shoe equivalent sizes for the smart wool socks? I wear sneaker size 10 mens. Thanks”

Answer A Large size would correspond to a size 10 mens shoe. If you mouse over the M size you will see corresponding shoe size between 6 - 8.5 for mens shoes and XL size for 12 to 14.5 mens shoe size. The size L would be between these two and would correspond to the range of a size 10 mens shoe.

Answer In the Smartwool sock a mens size 10 would be a large. The medium is a 7 - 9 1/2; XL is a 12-14 1/2.
