He really wanted a excellent, reliable headlamp since we are going to Peru in the summer. However, we didn't want to fork out alot of money. This headlamp is awesome with the different settings and easy adjustable lamp.

Seems bright enough, will now need to see how long the batteries will last on full power. Good option for the price.

Answer I do not have one of these headlamps so I have not tested my thought - but if you can find AAA batteries that are lithium, they should work. It is the size that is important.
