I'm in northern California. We have extremes if you go looking for them, but generally it's a lot of middle ground in terms of weather.

This jacket is awesome for taking the edge off without being bulky or heavy. It blocks all of the wind, most of the moisture, and yet breaths fairly well.

    This Windshirt is awesome.
It keeps you away from cold wind, rain and moisture. At the same time this shirt is SUPER LIGHT and can be fold into your bag.
But there's only one chest pocket and it will not hold something heavy.
PS: The sleeves is a little bit longer!

Windbloc works great. Light insulation and no hand pockets make it a great mid layer. Chest pocket for phone or glasses. Permanent mesh pit zips. Easy to take and easy to wear. How come I didn't get this before?

Very happy with the quality and performance of this windshirt. I love the breathability of the mesh underarm area - it quickly dissipates excess heat. The jacket repels a light rain over short periods of time - I have not worn it under conditions of extended precipitation and don't know how long it would take to wet out. It's great to have on when the wind picks up and things cool down. The inner liner is very comfortable. Although everyone varies in their preferences, I would not wear this item in temperatures above the upper 50s especially if active. If I could change one thing it would be the location of the breast pocket which I find rides a little low but an otherwise excellent tool for the outdoors.

This is my 2nd windshirt but different color. I also have Driclime Ether.
It's black with inobivious grid, and the driclime fleece is black, too.
so you won't be notice that your inner driclime out from your cuff.

  • Question “Would this be a good jacket/shirt for running in Montana winter?”

Asked on 12/13/2015 3:58:38 PM by anon from Colorado
    • Answer Yes. I use mine all the time for winter backpacking and running.
Answered on 12/13/2015 4:51:12 PM by Jim Bean from North Carolina
    • Answer Sorry there is not a temperature rating. Most manufacturers do not have temperature ratings for their garments or footwear due to the number of factors that affect how warm a garment may keep you.
Answered on 12/14/2015 11:00:46 AM by Product Specialist Greg from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer Yes, if you used it as a base or mid layer. It is too light to stand up to that kind of cold on its own.
Answered on 12/14/2015 9:29:39 PM by TN Ed from Tennessee
    • Answer It really depends upon the temperature and wind factor. This jacket has a thin layer of polyester bonded to a nylon layer so it offers some warmth and wind resistance. In a sunny windless situation it would be great for running. I use it as a middle layer for winter hiking and for cool early mornings in summer. Unlike the other Marmot DriClime jacket I've had for over 10 years it does not have any pockets.
