These are my 2nd pair of these to buy. Before you buy, you must know, like Levi's 501 Shrink to Fit, they will draw up about a 1/2 inch in the waist, and between an inch and an inch and a half in the length...BUY THEM A SMIDGE TOO BIG for optimum fit...

I had to return these because the size was way too big, both waist and length, even tho I ordered size I always order. These jeans will need to be washed several times before they might be wearable due to stiffness. Seemed very heavy, but that might be okay for winter work

These pants are true to size and are very comfortable. I was worried that the heavy material would be uncomfortable and cause chaffing but it wasn't. I've used these for building fence, cleaning the yard and changing oil. These are going to be perfect for quail season here in Arizona when I'm pushing through cats claw, scrub oak and cactus. I'm sure the double front is going to stand up to a lot.
    Get a pair...you won't regret it.

I get about two years out of a pair of these, wearing a couple of times a week. First year to year and a half of wear they are very presentable, then the last six months typically they get relegated to paint duty, demo, etc. I do everything from home repair to remodels to corporate clients, so a pair of pants that can take a beating yet look decent is important. In a day, I might go from kneepads and headlamp in a crawl space to wearing bags framing an addition to hanging a new TV in a conference room, and these pants are at home through it all.

These have a nice trim fit, and after a few weeks they soften up a bunch and are very comfortable. I like that they are not super baggy.

They shrink a lot in the first few washings, so don't freak out when they are too big right out of the box. I have found that they run true to size after shrinkage. The color will mellow a fair bit as well in the first couple of months.

A smart phone will fit in the right side pocket, but not the left.

Great quality material. These are thick fabric that allow for protection without restricting movement.

  • Question “Do these shrink when after being washed and dried?”
Asked on 1/6/2014 8:05:47 AM by Jackson from Washington
    • Answer Yes. They shrink noticeably if dried by machine. Hanging to dry is a better option.

  • Question “Are these relaxed fit?”
Asked on 11/12/2013 9:50:46 AM by Chyann from WA
    • Answer This item is a Dungaree fit, which is Carhartt's roomiest fit. The Carhartt relaxed fit is their second most snug.

    • Answer There is not much of a difference.

    • Answer The duck is a different fabric.
Answered on 3/22/2012 12:00:00 AM by Brett from Milwaukee, WI
    • Answer Yes. The Duck is a heavier material, almost twice the thickness of the washed dungarees. The Duck pants are more suitable for heavy work, while the dungarees are more of a casual or summer pant, same style, different durability.

Asked on 9/8/2010 12:00:00 AM by slater from Tokyo, Japan

  • Question “what is the fit?”
Asked on 12/27/2009 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer These pants are the Dungaree fit.
Answered on 12/28/2009 12:00:00 AM by Customer Care from Sierra Trading Post
    • Answer The B01's are dungaree-style pants and are 100% cotton (so they shrink a bit--but not a huge amount). They are snug around the waist and widen out through the seat. The legs are relatively loose, with the cuffs designed to fit over boots, etc. Note that they're extraordinarily tough, so they start out somewhat stiff when new--if you wear 'em hard & wash them a bunch, they soften up eventually (but they're still plenty tough).
