When I think modal-cotton, I think luxe, soft, a bit stretchy. These socks were almost scratchy, even though there is no wool content in them. I am so pleased with theses socks They wear like iron but are light weight and can be worn with dress pants. They stay up and don't leave an indent on your leg, I can't wait to try them with tall boots. Good buy!
Modal is considered a type of rayon, but is made from the beech tree. It is very soft and popular for both clothing and household textiles and can be used on its own or in a blend with cotton, spandex, or others.

On the back of the label it describes Modal as being made from Beech trees grown using methods of certified sustainable forestry.|These socks also contain cotton, nylon and lycra. Very soft and very comfortable.
