Reviewed by Mac in NH from New Hmapshire on Wednesday, June 12, 2013I bought these for 2 reasons. First, I have a fairly high arch and my hiking boots were not giving me the support I wanted. So having a firm gel insole for higher arches appealed to me. The second reason was because of the price. The popular brand of hiking insoles runs in the $35-40 price range (and is a hard insole without the gel). So for the price it was worth a shot. I know these are not designated for hiking boots but I decided to give them a go anyway. I have used these once already for a hike up one of NH's 4000 footers. For the first mile or so they felt a little weird. I was not use to having support across the whole surface of my foot. So that took some getting used to. But once they broke in a little and foot adjusted to the feeling I was very happy with them. After about 5 miles of hiking on many different kinds or terrain my feet did not feel totally wiped out at the end of the hike. I am very ahppy with this purchace and would consider buying them again.
