Took them out last weekend in the hard ice in the morning and slush in the afternoon and the skis preformed well. Easy to turn especially in the crud.

Can't be that price, excellent ski for a great price. The 94's are great for the east coast. Also ski'd the 84's last year. The 84's are easier to turn but don't have the same float on the power and chatter a little more on the groomers. The 94's make a better all around ski.
    • Best Uses: Downhill
    • Cons: Some chatter on the cord

First mail order ski but the best. Sorry, I didn't get another pair to mount w different binding. 175#, 170cm. Plenty of float in Utah powder and very stable at high speed on pack. Easy to turn at slow. Good on crude/powder/ice.

I live and ski at Killington/Pico and originally purchased this ski as an addition to my quiver. It has quickly become the only ski I take out any more. Other than being a little sluggish in short radius turns or tight moguls it has very little down side and is blast to ski. If I still lived out in Colorado I would probably go a little fatter and look at the Watea 101 but for the east coast the Watea 94 is a great choice!
    • Best Uses: Downhill, East all-in-one ski, Powdercrud
    • Cons: Short radius turns
    • Describe Yourself: Professional
    • Pros: Edge hold on hard pack, Float in soft snow, Stable at speed, Versatile

  • Question “I'm 5 ft 9in tall and weigh 155 lbs and am a very experienced Norther CA resort skier. Love to ski ungroomed steeps, moguls, trees, etc. when conditions are good, but also spend a lot of time on the groomed blues & blacks with my wife and kids. I'm currently on 181cm K2 skis that are narrower under foot than the Wateas. Can anyone familiar with the Wateas say whether the 178 would be too long for me? Should I go short and get the 170s?”
Asked on 9/20/2011 12:00:00 AM by Daryl from Bay Area, CA
    • Answer The Wates 94 Alpine Skis at 170 cm length is suggested for advanced to expert skiier in all mountain conditions incuding powder who is 5'7" to 5'10" and between 140 to 165 pounds.
