The weave is such that there is a varying thickness which gives the illusion of multiple colors. I'm hanging these in a room with aqua walls and taupe carpet. The varigated grey color picks up on the taupe which pulls the room together in my case. The color has flecks of black and light silver too. The pattern is a bit odd that it looks like it has a million snags but I dig it. (Haven't hung yet though.)
