These boots should be considered a fall/spring boot but not a winter boot. Even at 14F the tops of your feet get cold. I replaced the insole with a wool one so the bottom of my feet wouldnt be cold, and that did help. I also find there is no traction even though it looks like there would be, I find myself slipping on even small patches of ice. These boots fit kind of strange. I have narrow feet and like others have a hard time getting them on. But once they are on there is loads of room, especially around the toes width wise. I got a size 9 and thats what I normally wear. If I were to size down, Im not sure I could get them on at all. The over all look of the boot is quite cute. Although you cant tell in the photos, the toe area of the boot curves in alot. It doesnt feel weird but it does look a bit odd and I find myself watching my feet when I walk. Comfort wise, these boos are ok. They have a very flat foot bed, no support what so ever. But that is easily fixed. So I did keep the boots, but only wear them when there is little to no snow. I wore them today in fact and it was 32F and I still felt the tops of my feet getting cold. But I guess thats ok for cute boots.

Nicely made boots. Wish there was more wool in the lining. Not very warm, unless you wear heavy wool socks.

    • Answer This brand we can only sell to addresses in the US only. Occasionally a vendor requests that we not ship their brand internationally and we must honor their wishes, though we prefer not to limit the brands we sell. We continually review restrictions with our vendors to see if any changes can be made.

  • Question “The water-proofness of these boots is not stressed in your description. I need boots for snow and snow-shoveling. Would these be good for that? They're described as suede.||Thanks.||Ms. M. Heiman”
Asked on 9/29/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from New York City
    • Answer The description on the Sorel manufacturer's site, states that the suede upper on this boot is waterproof. But remember most leathers are not totally waterproof, but more water resistant, usually treated with a spray or oil to allow water and moisture to bead up and roll off. Since snow is usually in the non-liquid state, I would not hesitate to wear these boots in the snow or while shoveling snow, but I would occassionally brush off or shake off the snow when I finished.
Answered on 10/3/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from None
    • Answer Yes, these boots should be great to wear for shoveling and being out in snow.
Answered on 10/6/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from None
    • Answer these boots are not water resistant even after spraying on a water repellent product. They will not keep you warm and if the snow is slushy you will be wet.
Answered on 10/12/2011 12:00:00 AM by thistledown from seattle, WA
    • Answer I'd probably call them water-resistant: as you said, they're suede. Only rubber Wellies are truly water-proof. I'd think that if you don't get them soaked thru and take proper care with salt and mag chloride, you shouldn't have a problem.

  • Question “Are these pull on boots? Do they have a zipper?”
Asked on 7/5/2011 12:00:00 AM by Anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer It is a pull on boot.
Answered on 7/15/2011 12:00:00 AM by anonymous from Unknown
    • Answer They are pull on boots and they don not have a zipper, but they are easy to pull on..and I have decent size calves and they fit over them with enough room to tighten the ties.
