The cornice box comes nicely packaged, upon opening you will find the item neatly packaged. The directions are well written. In the hanging process two people are needed to ensure easy installation.
Some of the largest obstacles in hanging this item are: 1) Measure twice before making any cuts. 2) Use a level, Make sure the cornice is level. 3) If using a hand saw to cut to size, make sure it is a fine tooth saw. The cornice may need to be trimmed to fit a window. 4) get your angles right and correct if cutting.
If you take the time to read the directions and follow, ensure that all measurements are correct before cutting and use the fine tooth hand saw if cutting by hand, this will be a fabulous item in your home. Secondly, the use of a level to ensure a nice looking installation.

I think Spec. Ryan misunderstood. The bracket measurements given seem to indicate a distance from the wall of about 6". Less 1" thickness of the panel and 1" thickness of the bracket you should have about a 4 inch depth from the wall to the inside edge of the panel. I'll let you know when mine arrive :)

Actually you have about 4.5" for drapes, or in my case, the vertical blinds on my sliding glass door. No problem.
