I first ordered the xl because i have other mountain hardware and the xl fits. This jacket has a generous cut so the XL was way too big. L fits nice. I usually buy 14/16 tops. This hood has two ways of adjusting so you could wear this over a helmet or without helmet and it will still work. Will probably use this as my bike rain gear because i'm so impressed with it's water proofieness and i can cinch that hood just right so it won't interfere with my vision. It also has a means by which you can fold the hood down and tuck it into a sort of collar. Another thoughtful detail to make this jacket multipurpose ... not just for rainy days.

I wore this hiking in the rain a week after I'd nearly drowned wearing another product and I was absolutely delighted! The three layer Gortex fabric is the best they make. It's thick and warm yet flexible and I stayed dry and comfortable during four straight hours of rain. Compared to other rain jackets this one is far more fitted. The sleeves are a little narrower, it's an inch or two longer, the waist is slightly nipped in, the style is closer to the body. Despite this, there's plenty of room to wear a vest or jacket underneath if you need more warmth. I found that the pit zips and the Velcro tabbed wrist straps provided excellent temperature control and that the hood was comfortable, stayed up in the wind, and was also easy to fold into a collar when not needed. I bought this for hiking and active sports but it's so handsome I can wear it with anything, and will! I have two minor grievances: I bought the black jacket with raspberry trim and it's beautiful. For me the other two color choices are too pastel, and the white trim and zippers are impractical. The main zipper has tiny teeth and can be difficult to align. This is a very expensive jacket which STP offered at a great price-what a buy!

It is a nicely made coat but the fit is strange. It is plenty roomy in the shoulders but cuts in too far in the waist and through the mid section.

I ordered the Mountain Hardwear Sashi jacket a couple of months ago and love it. I decided to order this one because the Large was sized a little bigger than the Sashi so I could layer more underneath it. It does feel a little bigger except around the hips. I really love the pink trim on the black, it stands out and looks fantastic. I am very happy with this purchase
