Great jacket. I keep is stuffed in my pack or jersey pocket for those cool down hill sections after a long climb on the bike. Perfect for adding a little wind protection or keeping the chill from a light drizzle away.

Got this jacket at Marmot in SF Union Square store. Was told about how breathable it is. I have had it for 2 years now and use it only in emergency windy conditions only below 50F with some warm jersey under. Its only really good to keep some dirt off your other layers if needed. Fortunately it packs to a size of a ball of socks so there is one star for that. Also its super lite so there goes star number two. Wearing it in the rain is a nightmare. It actually lets water in faster than it drains so In heavy rain the sleeves become water bags . In the wind it protects well everywhere but at huge armpit vents making you cold fast. In warmer temperatures it makes you sweaty right away. Mine says 100% polyester on the tag. Would be nice to have this in some really good versatile fabric instead of a polyester rip-stop that is as good as a black yard waste bag protecting you from elements. Overpriced for a limited usage.

I bought the lime color version. it is super light and takes about 1 min to pack it into its pocket. I put it into my daily backpack and it travels with me all the time.

The downside of its being light and so packable is the mtrls used. it is very thin. Time will tell how long it lasts.

Haven't worn it yet to see if it is breathable but better believe it is light. Perfect for stashing in a purse or pocket even to be ready when weather changes. This thing is very compact and light.Alibaba

  • Question “How breathable do you find this jacket to be when active”
Asked on 12/14/2014 10:36:13 PM by Ol' Comfy Bottoms from West of the Great Laramie Divide
    • Answer Very breathable, never clammy, soft and flexible against the skin.
Answered on 12/15/2014 12:25:22 AM by Pacific Rider from SF Bay Area
    • Answer It's plenty breathable but will get soaked if you sweat a lot, like I do when running. After a windy run, I notice it dries very fast when I'm cooling down and still outdoors. I've done some runs in it when in the 30F's and windy and I really like the way it takes the sting out of a cold wind and yet I stay cool and comfortable inside. Like the hoody to protect my ears from biting wind. Perfect for what I bought it for........super lightweight wind protection and stores down to virtually nothing when packing it on a trip and space limited. I live in Central TX, so days in the 20F's are rare, so haven't tested it in very cold conditions........would wear appropriate layers underneath for very cold.

    • Answer I find the jacket to be moderately breathable. It's light weight and wind-resistant and well constructed.

    • Answer Hard to say, since I'm not sure how to objectively rate breathability and I got it after most of the warmer weather had passed for the season. Its extremely light weight (the merest shell) and has rather open mesh under the arms and at the back of the neck. The couple of times I did wear it, I wasn't doing anything very strenuous.

That's the best I can do, other than to add that its very thin/lightweight and its of high quality.
Answered on 12/15/2014 10:01:33 AM by Larry L from Baltimore, MD
    • Answer Its not especially loose fitting. I wear a medium and I just now tried it on with just a short sleeve T shirt. It fit fine and looked fine. There was some extra room, but not a lot. I'd say you could wear something a little heavier than a T shirt under it, but I wouldn't think you could wear anything too bulky under it. All depends on what you plan to wear under it and if you size up, presumably the sleeves and length will still be right for you. Hope this answered your question. This jacket is a nice shell, average roominess, but especially roomy though.

    • Answer Yes. Buy up one size. The arms are generous but it is slim waist. I got a Medium and the waist is most likely 32-33" at the bottom. Great jacket, though. It breathes well, packs up small and has some style to it.
