Bought in black, these shoes are stylish for young men and go with Ralph Lauren black check 3 piece suit and gray sharkskin as well. They can be

worn with less traditional, and more modern style and cut suits. Would choose a more traditional JM shoe, such as a wingtip or plain toe leather sole

with a pinstripe navy, gray, or black suit. These shoes are relatively soft leather and will fit a wider foot, D possibly slim E width and run a half size long.

Had to return the JM Westmore, Larsey, and Brichett cap toe beautiful shoes because they were so narrow, more like B/C than D width.

I wear dress shoes every day to work and have gone through dozens of pairs over the years from many different manufacturers. These are hands down the most comfortable ones I have ever had. They feel great right out of the box and didn't require any break in period. I love them and would buy another pair in a heartbeat.

Just what I expected. I have worn J&M's for years. Size was good, quality seems good, and they are very comfortable.

Soft & comfortable. Size feels true to size. Haven't worn too often since I usually dress casual & these are for dress. Great for wearing with suits or sport coat outfits. Look good.

I have been buying Johnston & Murphy shoes for about 7 or 8 years now. I find them to be high quality at a reasonable price. These shoes are very comfortable right out of the box and really do not require any breaking in. The natural grain of the shoe lends to excellent flexing without a sharp crease like other shoes sometimes have during the breakin period. The toes are pulled tight enough that they will take an good shine time and time again. The soles are a medium thickness rubber, which look good with dress slacks, but are not quite as formal as a thin leather sole. I expect they will last much longer than a thin leather sole in rainy Seattle weather. Overall a great shoe!
