I love these! Nice and light, flattering fit. I am a big fan of Gore-tax fabric! A well-made product. Good fit, I went a little larger than usual (I"m s/m and went m) and it was fine. Waist sits a little higher than I like, but pants are very practical, lightwieght, and have held up in the rain thus far. Pleased with my purchase.

I'm 5'7" and 130 lbs. I found the pants to be the correct length, but even though I got a size large, they were very tight around the waist, which is my only complaint. I walked a couple miles in them. Waterproofing is good, breathability kind of so-so. They rustle a little, but not as noisy as some other pants I tried on. There is a zipper at the bottom of the leg which is nice, and drawstring at the bottom. Overall I'm pleased with the purchase, but wish the waist wasn't so tight. Its elastic, so I fold it over and push it down over my hips, which feels more comfortable. Hopefully the elastic will stretch over time.

The pants were too tight around the legs preventing the wearing of any clothing underneath. Forced to return the product.

Just a note on sizing...I haven't used these rain pants yet, only tried them on over shorts, so the 4-star rating is provisional. I usually wear a size 6 pant and typically would have ordered these rain pants in size small. Based on another review, however, I purchased the medium and I'm glad I did - the waist isn't generous and the size small would've been too small. Maybe they're intended for that wasp-waisted hiker. Otherwise, they seem well constructed and of the quality one would expect of a Marmot product.

    • Answer Yes there are side pockets. They have waterproof zipper closures. I have to say, these are really nice pants! Unless you require full side zips, I don't think you can go wrong with these.

  • Question “Is it a full zip pants???”

    • Answer This item does not have a full zip.

    • Answer No Kevin, not full zip. I thought they were when I ordered them because the side view picture in the catalog on line is of some other model. I alerted them that the side picture was wrong but don't think they agreed. The front and back pictures are accurate. I have to say that even though I had full intention to return them because I wanted full zip, I kept them and decided that I would just remove my boots to put them on and take them off. They were so very comfortable I changed my mind. The full zips I was also looking at were crinkly and noisy. These are soft and quiet. The zip goes to about the knee but not enough of an opening for hiking boots. Sneakers maybe. These are really nice pants and I highly recommend them if you can function without full zips. Hope that helps.
