I love these! Nice and light, flattering fit. I am a big fan of Gore-tax fabric! It's super soft and not like your typical waterproof fabric that crunches when you walk I did have to exchange them for a larger size. I am 5'3" and weigh 118 and the small was a bit too snug when sitting, but the m... Read More

I bought these pants for NW rainy days. Haven't tried them yet, but they fit pretty good - a little tight (I bought a small - 5'6", 115 lbs.) , but I decided to keep them and not size up because the next size would have been too baggy, and I hate pants that don't sit right around the hips or have a baggy crotch. I did try them on with a good base layer and they were adequate so I decided to keep them. I have other Marmot pants that fit a bit better, also a size small.

Nice pants - I'm 5'1" 110 lb and the xs fit great. They don't make a "crinkle" sound when wearing them the way some rain gear does.

Perfect! I wanted a light weight waterproof pant. I stayed dry wearing them backcountry & cross country skiing.

Following the sizing advice of earlier reviewers, I got this in a Medium, and I'm glad I did. I'm 5'5", a slender/athletic 125 lb with more substantial hips, and I may have been able to shimmy into a Small but it would have been uncomfortable over other clothes. I'll use these for canoe trips I anticipate to be wetter (or colder) than normal and as my rain pants for backcountry hiking. I do have to take my shoes off to get them on (even with snaps and zips on the legs) but for good coverage (and to not have elastic at the ankle) I'll do that happily. These have elastic at the back of the waist but a normal looking front, so they're also not as hideous as most rain pants.

    • Answer No lining - but they are quite thick for waterproof pants. I wear another layer underneath for warmth.

    • Answer No lining just a shell. I've worn them for cross-country skiing. I love them because I put them over thick leggings to keep me dry & warm.

    • Answer I do not know as I am not familiar with the pants you're asking about comparing these pants type. They are heavier than my marmot minimalist jacket. That move equally well – no stiffness. I love the way they fit, very flattering yet slide easily over another pair of pants or shorts

    • Answer Yes there are side pockets. They have waterproof zipper closures. I have to say, these are really nice pants! Unless you require full side zips, I don't think you can go wrong with these.

  • Question “Is it a full zip pants???”
Asked on 5/15/2014 9:11:10 PM by KEVIN from HONG KONG
    • Answer This item does not have a full zip.

    • Answer No Kevin, not full zip. I thought they were when I ordered them because the side view picture in the catalog on line is of some other model. I alerted them that the side picture was wrong but don't think they agreed. The front and back pictures are accurate. I have to say that even though I had full intention to return them because I wanted full zip, I kept them and decided that I would just remove my boots to put them on and take them off. They were so very comfortable I changed my mind. The full zips I was also looking at were crinkly and noisy. These are soft and quiet. The zip goes to about the knee but not enough of an opening for hiking boots. Sneakers maybe. These are really nice pants and I highly recommend them if you can function without full zips. Hope that helps.
