I bought three of these Marmut Jr. Bags for my three boys ages 8-14. We camped in Glacier NP and they did great. My oldest is small for age and did well with this bag but certainly by 5 ft 7inches ( the size this bag is rated to) he will likely outgrow it. The bags pack nice and small but a bit tric... I purchased this Marmot bag for about $50, and it was purchased for an 8 year old boy. I had been searching for a junior sized sleeping bag that was lightweight for backpacking but warm enough and durable enough to keep up with a high speed kiddo. There are not many lightweight and compact options for kiddos that come at a reasonable price. This bag fits all of those specs even though it is not a down bag. The quality of the bag is amazing as expected from Marmot. It is very compact when stuffed into its own stuff sack that comes with the bag (approximately 2 liters in size). It would easily compress more if placed in a compression sack. I have not had a chance for my kiddo to use the bag yet, but I can't anticipate any problems. I will post an updated review after I've had a chance to take it on a hiking trek. I would highly recommend this bag for kiddos. Remember it is a kid's sleeping bag, so it is much shorter than a standard adult bag.

Took this bag on a two night backpacking trip in the Angeles Crest Nat'l Forest mid June. My 10 year old carried it in her pack........stuffed nice and small and was light! Temps were in the mid 60's so she slept with it unzipped and it kept her cozy and comfy. I'm thinking of buying another one for my 12 yr old son; he uses an adult size one. I would definitely recommend this sleeping bag, the size would actually fit a petite adult too.

I gambled and ordered this bag for myself hoping it would fit me (5'4" tall, 135 lbs) based off of a quick chat with STP staff on dimensions and could not be more pleased! I fit in it perfectly and due to not having much extra space I stay VERY warm...have not camped on a 20 degree night yet, but I am absolutely certain I will be warm as long as I use a sleeping pad underneath.

This beats any regular "adult" bag for me (even "short" mummy styles) and got it at a price that cannot be beat compared to an adult 20 degree bag.

As long as you are ok with the bag moving with you when you are zipped in instead of you turning inside the bag this is a no-brainer if you are 5'4" or shorter.

I've never found a sleeping bag that fit my size so well and kept me warm. I'm only 4'10" so finding gear can be a challenge sometimes. This bag is the perfect length for me and I still have room to move a little bit. I haven't tried it out backpacking yet but it definitely traps heat in quickly so I'm excited to bring it out. The stuff sack is sturdy as well and pretty easy to fit in/on my pack.
