No, this isn't your typical Sidi, Italian labor of love, craft and leather. That said, you are paying nowhere near the Italian mades. But what you do get it a very simple, nice fitting shoe, especially if you are a bit tall in the foot, and med to widish. The three straps work well, and when they are made right(big&wide), can be an overall easier to use, to adjust(on the fly), and hold as well as a ratchet! The plastic heel cup is must for any serious MTB shoe. This shoe will be a bit more permissive to the light merino wool socks you may wear when getting cold. Even better deal here on STP.
    • Best Uses: Climbing, Long-distance riding, Straight Up Mtb Use
    • Cons: Not A Classic Sidi Build
    • Describe Yourself: Competitive Cyclist
    • Pros: Good Traction, Plastic Heel Cup, Simple to Use, Successful 3 Strap Design
    • Sizing: Feels true to size
    • Was this a gift?: No
    • Width: Feels true to width

I have worn Sidi road shoes for 12+ years and absolutely love them. Unfortunately, these are not them. This is there lowest end shoe which they no longer make. The synthetic Lorica leather feels really cheap & plastic on this shoe, which is wierd because it's on my road shoe too. The shank in not nearly stiff enough for long days or tough uphill slogs. The tread is an inexplicable super hard plastic, and they put two extra tread studs near the toes (in addition to the not-included screw ins) that makes it difficult to clip in. Finally, the tread is so thick that you can't clip in: the cleat is too recessed. You will need two spacers (non included) to bring the cleat level so level so you can clip in. No happy. In my opinion, look for another shoe. Sorry Sidi...
