This coat is perfect. I live in an area where it gets very cold. This coat keeps me warm. No chill at all. Hood is not so big it falls over eyes. Covers the bum almost to my knees. I really like this coat. It is the lightest warm coat I have ever worn. I normally wear size 4-6, but the small was too tight to wear anything bulkier than a tee shirt under. Medium fits well except that the sleeves are too long. The oyster color looks fairly dressy,but I'll get it dirty pretty fast despite the stain repellent finish.
The white coat does look to be a little shiny.

It's got a nice pearly sheen to it, not "shiny" per se. If you got it smudged with dirt or face bronzer (as in my case), just throw it in the wash (refer to instructions provided in the coat) & dry on low heat! This is my fav. coat - light-weight & very warm!
