It has also been great as an simple layer over a light shirt in cool fall evenings. They wear well and wash up great. I own the white, purple (last year's color), teal (also from last year), gray, and recently I purchased the regal blue color and the tomatoe red (you call it red velvet)! They are all well made and very functional. My mom, sister and I all wear these vests. They are a must have for travel. Enjoy this vest and maybe we will see a pink or powder blue next year!!
