I use this shoe from trail running to long approaches to walls. On the approaches I am generally carrying a 50 lb pack. The MT20s have most excellent traction, mainly due to the Vibram sole. They are very lightweight and super breatheable.

I actually bought these to wear when traveling in central america. I wouldn't recommend these for heavy duty backpacking by any means. However, because of their light weight, compactability and how quick they dry, they fit the bill for what I was looking for. (Just a shoe to where while traveling from town to town by bus or boat). They seem to hold up well for this purpose. I also use them for light running in the mornings.

These shoes are comfortable and low to the ground. Good for lifting weight as well as running, so I plan on using these for Crossfit workouts. My only complaint is these seem to be larger than other NB shoes, so I had to buy a 1/2 size smaller than normal and still seem a little looser than my other NB shoes.

  • Question “Hi - I wear mens shoes a lot (I am a women), not only because I have large feet, but I like the extra toe room I usually get. I've not tried a mens Minimalist, though, and am wondering if you could recommend a conversion size from mens to women? Thank you! ”

    • Answer It appears the New balance men's to women's size have a 2 size difference. I.E. If you wear a woman's 10 you would want to get a men's 8.
