I absolutely love my current Black Diamond double FlickLock trekking poles, but was handing them over to my husband and looking for a new pair for myself. These sounded great, and they are of nice quality, light weight, and a fun color. That said, the auto-lock feature is why these are going back; they lock when in the extended position, but slide partially open if moved in the collapsed position. I can picture these sliding open when not in use, such as when they may be attached to my pack. I did notice the new version of this pole has double FlickLocks, and for me that speaks for itself.

Bought for boyfriend because his old poles broke, this is the closest to his old poles with the third sections quick clip and locking second section. But instead of having a round shaft they are elliptical making them more sturdy. Plus they are lighter great for 30 to 40 mile trips we do.

I returned these without taking them out hiking. The reason I have is the lower locking mechanism. It's this weird button thing. I have no idea how stable it is, but I can tell you that just walking around my house with them, that lower locking mechanism rattled like crazy. I never heard a trekking pole rattle around like this one, so I I returned it and got something quieter.
