I was looking for a fall/spring boot for my two year old that was comfortable, sturdy, warm and waterproof and these boots have it all. They do run a tad small, maybe half a size, and yes, they are a bit of a struggle to get on, but after they break in and you get used to them it goes easier. Its all about finding the right angle. The togle and elastic lace system does not quite open up so easiely, and they would probably work better with a real lace, although I have not bothered to replace them. The benefits are so worth it though as the snug fit provides amazing stability for my active little guy. Once the foot is in you can feel how well they fit. I love the ankle support, and the rubber treds keep him stable on all surfaces. And they are not kidding about being waterproof! I caught my guy standing in a 3 inch deep puddle of slush and mud the other day and when i pulled him out the water and mud just beaded up and rolled off. Amazing. They are warmer then I thought with a nice lining so they will be great boots for running errands and whatnot all winter when you don't need the big snowboots. And, to top it off, they are really handsome looking and dress up nicely with cords and a sweater! Truly a great all prurpose boot. I will probably look to buy these in the next size up and maybe for my 7 year old too.

I always get both our kids waterproof hiker style shoes great for various outdoor activities. The larger shoelace style is working well for my 10 year old, but these toggle style don't have enough room to get my 6 year old daughter's little foot through the opening at the ankle. The waterproof feature keeps the tongue from moving far enough. Disappointed that we had to return.
