I probably won't use the thumb holes, but they're there if I need them. I was going to use it as a base layer so I won't use the shoulder zip pocket, but as the layer under a vest or warm-up layer it would be great. Probably, just the ticket for an early morning trail run.

I would not call this a heavyweight shirt, but it is a nice wicking base layer at a good price.

I was actually surprised that I like this shirt as much as I do. Well made, warm and comfortable material.

We have been very happy overall with Terramar and we always seem to get our more than our money's worth on it from STP. I wanted a heavier quarter zip baselayer for winter with mock turtle neck, thumbholes, and grid fleece. This has one has it all with better fit for only a little more money than the wickers baselayers. I prefer merino wool, but for the money this one is hard to beat. I usually wear medium baselayers (5'8", 175 pounds, athletic build) that fit snug, but got a large in this shirt to wear over a thin layer of merino.
