I bought two of these for my husband, who does lots of biking, hiking, running, and skiing, and he loves them. I've been extraordinarily happy with this shirt for the price. I actually bought two more [: It's nice enough to wear on its own in a non-active setting, but really keeps warm as a baselayer when it needs to.
I am typically between a medium and large (150#, 6', slim athletic frame, long torso) and bought a medium so it would be more form-fitting for active uses. I was happy to find that it was plenty long enough, which is often the limiting factor for me. It shrunk slightly in the wash, and now the sleeves are a bit too short, but that's not a big deal when I'm layering. If I buy some to wear in more casual settings, I'll probably get a large to deal with the shrinkage.
