I slipped a few times in the snow and knew I had to get some better footwear. The Caribous are super warm and have excellent traction. I never feel like I am going to fall. They are also very warm on those ten below mornings. The only down side is the sizing. I would have liked to have the half size. I sized up from a seven to an eight, but a 7.5 would have been perfect. You need to size up if you want to wear a thick wool sock with this felt liner.

Answer The boot's shell is not insulated, however it has a removable ThermoPlus felt liner that is 9mm thick which provides the insulation. There is no wool because the liner is made of synthetic fibers. (polypropylene, recycled polyester, and polyester.

Answer The collar is just acrylic fleece and not wool. Sorel has a new style the Caribou Wool Boot, which is not this style. The style we have is a closeout of the older style that was not wool.
