This wool pad was a joy to lay down on. I was worried about the straps, but they've gripped well so far despite three dogs dragging themselves on to the bed several times a day. The pad is not smooth, so it tends to stay put. The straps are a much better alternative than an elastic skirt, which would probably be plastic-y or some other chemical-based vinyl that I don't want near my bed. Wool is a fantastic material, and this pad seems to be a well-executed use of it, without plastics and synthetics wrapped around it.
I chose to pair this pad with a very thin (but breathable!) waterproof mattress cover. I was concerned about an incident of a dog peeing on the bed just once being hard to get out of the wool.
My experience so far as been laying down, getting comfortable, and then *staying* comfortable through the morning.
I was worried that it didn't look very thick (it didn't promise thickness, but I wanted *comfort*). My concerns were unwarranted. It doesn't pretend to be a memory-foam mattress topper, but it offers a genuine softness. It lays flat and even on the bed; no signs of any clumping so far.
Highly recommended! I will now always want wool on my bed.
