These gloves are extra warm for working or playing in cold conditions. I haven't worn them while it's snowing or raining so I can't say if they're waterproof. They fit well with the finger length just right. With the selection of sizes, anybody can find a pair that will fit.

These are really nice gloves that have been getting a lot of work since they arrived. I use them for skiing and snowboarding. They are medium/heavy. I don't use them on the coldest days (0 to -30F in Winter Park, CO). The long cuff is nice - especially for snowboarding where your hands are often in the snow. However, it takes work/time to get them over the jacket sleeves. They are good for situations where you put'em on and leave'em on. I wouldn't use them if I needed to take them off and on frequently for dexterity. They came with two pairs of strings/straps that serve no purpose for me and could be a problem in the trees. They were easily removed.

This review is based purely on aesthetics as the gloves have not been put to use quite yet. I just wanted to comment that the waterproof membrane is not Gore-Tex as the picture implies. From the description it would appear to be something similar in nature.
