Thought 30L would be too big for day trips but I got the S/M (I'm 5'8'' female) and it is the perfect size!

This was a nice bag, I liked a lot of its features. Ultimately it was too small. I really had trouble fitting my avy gear in the "avy gear" pocket, and I would have preferred more space in the main pocket as well. Also the pocket for the water bladder was extremely short, short enough for me to wonder what bladder is shaped like that. I returned it.
