Note the front wrap strap and the back wrap are not connected so no arch cramping occurs during gait. There is adequate arch support which I must find in a shoe or add myself. The shoe is straight lasted which means my toe fits well in the toe clasp. If your foot is very curved, this is not the shoe for you. The soles are not thick but offer enough cushioning for activities not involving walking on cobblestone or cement for long hours. The ankle strap fits securely - no long overhang on my thin-ish foot. Good grip on the velcro. I have a narrow heel which is necessary for this shoe, in my estimation. There is no heel adjustment. The front of the shoe is moderately wide, thus accommodating my true duckfoot. I ordered size 7 and I wear a 7 usually. In European/Israeli sizes I wear a size 37. I am extremely pleased with these shoes. I do not want to take them off.
