The steak knives are GOURMET. If I had done further detailed research I may have noticed that in the description, but overall I am very pleased with this purchase. I'm not a gourmet cook, but will enjoy this set as the knives I had been using were far poorer quality. This set has all the basic knives I need.

One thing to note is the steak knives are from the "Gourmet" series, not "Classic". Not a problem, but I didn't realize until we got a good look at them.

Question “The steak knives in this set appear to be the "Gourmet" line, which is much thinner/lighter than the true "Classic" line steak knives (the much more robust steak knives are available in the larger set STP sells). The tell-tale sign appears to be the lack of the metal running through the lower portion of the handle (again, this appears to apply only to the steak knives). The description also calls the steak knives "Gourmet". So, are the steak knives from the lower-end Gourmet line?”
