I am using it as a mid-layer and it's working perfect. Our winter is going s little long here in Minnesnowta this year and this jacket has been perfect under my Mountain Hardwear Tech jacket. Wind-proof outer layer and light non-binding mid-layer of warth. Don't forget there's a hood on this jacket too. I'd definitely reccomend this jacket to any outdoor enthusiasts.

Reviewed by JIMBO28 from CHARDON, OHIO on Sunday, February 24, 2013THIS JACKET IS VERY LIGHTWEIGHT AND NOT VERY WARM BY ITSELF SO IT DOESNT HAVE MUCH USE AS A STAND ALONE JACKET. IT IS WELL BUILT AND MIGHT BE GOOD FOR AEROBIC ACTIVITIES ON MILD DAYS. NOT WORTH THE MONEY HOWEVER.

Reviewed by MT snowman from Ennis MT on Wednesday, February 20, 2013I purchased this well made jacket as a mid-layer; it's warm & great material & not bulky, but the hand gaiters interfere with gloves unless forgivingly large & the hood may make some helmets too tight, so sadly I returned this great jacket as it does not suit my needs as a mid-layer.
