The material is such that it didn't lay flat where you wanted it to, like in the crotch area. Made a strange pucker that was really not attractive if you get my drift! The shorts fit around the waist, the length was fine, just were not flattering, so those shorts were returned.

There was just too much extra fabric in the mid-hip area, making me look wider than I am, and no way to make an adjustment. Might fit a woman with fuller hips much better. Hated to send it back.

Reviewed by EC from NYC on Wednesday, January 16, 2013I used the size chart on Sierra Trading Post's site, and I also looked on other sites for this brand's size chart. According to the size chart and the other reviews claiming that these shorts run small, I should have ordered a 10 (I usually wear an 8 in pants, or a 6 if I want a skin-tight fit) but the 10 is HUGE. If I exchange them, I'll get a 6. My measurements are 29-30" waist, 40" hips.
