I bought this jacket for my teenage son and he was absolutely satisfied. He thanked me so many times because he said it definitely keeps him warm along with the fact that the girls liked the color.

I bought this 800 fill as a replacement of an older 600 fill which I ripped, my fault not the jackets. Firstly, I like Marmot because they are very good quality products with zero hype over branding nor flashy trendy designs, you can have great quality gear without the big logos.

This jacket is an all around upgrade to my earlier 600 fill. It's lighter and less puffy but seems to be the same warmth. I can wear this with a sweater down to 20 degrees. With the hood, it's a go-to for all winter conditions.

Pros - warm (does an excellent job at keeping out the wind), extremely lightweight, has four nice sized pockets with zippers (two for hands, two chest with one inside and one outside), fits me well, looks good.

Cons - I am not sure about the velcro on the wrists. It is handy to keep the wrist openings snug but maybe elastic would have been better. If you adjust the vecro to be really snug then you have to adjust it again (make it bigger) to take the jacket off. This was the only con I could come up with and it is a little nitpicky.

I highly recommend this jacket. It makes winter better.

I am incredibly happy with this jacket--it definitely fulfills all the needs i was looking for in an active, lightweight hiking jacket. The 800 fill down kept me really toasty with nothing more than a t-shirt layer in the 40s. There's plenty of room for layering though. I can comfortably fit a dri-fit long sleeve with my marmot variant jacket underneath the ama dablam and a waterproof shell on top--that will definitely get me down to the teens if necessary. I am 5'8" and 180 lbs--relatively broad shoulders and a slight belly--Medium fits me perfectly.

This is a good quality down jacket. I love the attached hood, comes in handy. Nice size chest & hand warmer pockets. Not bulky, low profile but warm and functional.
