I bought three pairs of these pull-on pants looking for something warm and comfortable, yet somewhat stylish, for the winter months. This pair fit, although several buyers weren't so lucky. I bought the tan pants, which are very comfortable and wash well. I ordered a pair of the brown pants which fit more like leggings, With the current return policy, it was free return and credit applied to my account so risk factor is low.

I wear a 12 in pants and I bought a Large. I have to pull them up under my chest to fit right now, but I haven't washed them. I have had this experience before only to have the pants shrink to unwearable after one season. That is why I bought the Large. The pants are 75% cotton and 4% spandex so figure there will be major shrinkage no matter what you do. The pants stretch very much in all directions, even more than leotards or jeggings. You could pretty much buy any size available and they will fit in the girth. They do look like corduroy and they aren't too bulky. Not stylin' but not sweatpants. Guess you know that.

Somewhere between wide wale and the smaller wale. Not too bulky though. The pockets are made of a thinner fabric so they are not bulky either. This is not regular corduroy. It will stretch some.
