I am using this as a day pack from work and back , at first when it came I thought it was to small.
Then I put in my sketchbook, my ipad , my purse etc.
And it all fits. It just looked small when it was right out of the package.
Best thing I can hold the weight on my hips and not on my shoulders ... Read More

I've used this bag several times now for short day hikes and longer overnights trips. I really like it. It's simple style and accessible pockets works great for my preferences. I don't like a million pockets and this one fits the bill. The water bottle holders on each side are oversized (as compared to most) so it can handle larger bottles or extra equipment easily. I do notice a difference with the 'swing arm' straps and I did not think it was too stiff. The chest strap does have to be cinched for this feature to work though, which doesn't bother m. Fit like a charm, just what I was looking for

I was looking to get a small "daypack" that didn't scrimp on comfort. This pack fits the bill. the straps and hip belt fit my 5'4" frame perfect. I ordered the medium because my torso was right at the cutoff. The medium size has a bit more storage space.

I used this bag as my carry on when heading west for a national park adventure. I was able to fit my 14 inch chrombook, spare clothes, blanket, medium size pillow, water bottle, long sleeve shirt, wallet, two cell phones, keys and other random stuff. For a "daypack" this seems like too much space. More like a weekend bag. But the material is light enough that during my outdoor adventures on an impromtu cave dive, it held just what I needed and I forgot it was there.

I bought this smaller pack for activities that don't require the capacity of my full-sized pack. It's roomy; was able to put stuff clothes for a ten day beach trip in it for use as a carry-on. I'm 5 ft 5 inches, but small boned, and this pack feels comfortable and carries well. Great pack at any price, but love the sale price at Sierra. Very fast service; the items in my order arrived in mint condition and looked as if they were packed by someone who cares.

I loved this pack except for one thing. The straps are hard as rocks and way too wide. They touch my neck and rubbed my arms. If the straps were softer and more flexible, this pack would rock. gt

  • Question “Does the hip belt have padding?”
Asked on 6/29/2014 5:04:14 PM by Cindy from colorado
    • Answer Yes, it does, I use it for carrying by books that I teach with, I walk ten blocks in S.F. and it balances
the weight and is comfortable on the hips.
Answered on 6/29/2014 5:50:05 PM by The viking horse from California
    • Answer A qualified "yes". The hip belt has about half (about 5/8") the amount of padding as my full sized, REI pack. I bought it for travel and have not used it for extensive hiking. For what I've used it for, it's comfortable and holds a whole week of clothes, small gear. Met my needs perfectly.

    • Answer Yes it does. It is not heavily padded, but it gets the job done. I purchased the bag for a light day pack, but it can actually hold enough for an overnight (if you are a light packer like me that is)
