I wasn't sure if this would help keep water out of my kayak but it really does, and it doesn't get as hot as a full skirt. It goes on and comes off fairly easily, which is good because you have to get in first, then put on the deck while you are in the cockpit. Very happy with this.

I used this for the first time the other day in a an estuary with a little wind chop - it worked great. It wouldn't replace a full spray skirt in surf or serious white caps, but it's fine for mild conditions and flat water.
