I own the 6 inch version of this boot & I love it. The only boot that I've ever had that compares with them are a pair of custom made hiking boots I own -- which WERE made for my feet.

These boots are well made of quality materials. Although the gusseted tongue is a little thin on the padding. The rest of the boot is well padded in the right places. The rubber rand is a plus for longevitys sake. The vibram sole is another win win situation. I just finished walking my dog 3 miles in these boots and I can honestly say I love these boots. I feel these boots will be appreciated for years to come. I bought these for riding my motorcycle in the desert and hiking. I am a former Infantry Marine and I remember a lot of the lifers bucked up for the expensive Goretex Danners back in the late eighties. If I would have known how comfortable and well made these boots were I would have bought a pair a long time ago.

It's hard to write a review because this is the 1st. time I purchased these boots. I bought 2 prs one for my son & one for my grandson. Both work together and need boots that are waterproof and will last doing rugged work. Upon looking at reviews from sources that rate them, it shows the Danner boots to be right up there at the top on the ratings. They do look like they will do the job but let me rate them after 7 months out on the job. That will be the real test.

I am very happy with these boots. Excellent quality, look & feel.

The tongue folds on these boots are poorly designed. Both boots have the folds in the wrong place and they rub the front inside of the ankle. This would appear to be a design defect. I don't think it is poor workmanship, because the problem is in both boots.
