I purchased three of these for myself and gifts and am very happy. They function better after opening and closing the knife several times to break them in a bit. You can see every piece and how the whole thing functions, which is interesting. If you don't want a boring knife, you'll like this one... Read More

I bought this to carry as an every day use knife. It's lightweight, well constructed and sharp! Be cautious if your not familiar with the opening system, YOU WILL CUT YOURSELF! If you have large hands the frame is a bit small when opening but so far so good...

This is one advanced design. It flips open with a strong spring assist, but getting to lock open will take a few trial runs. After a VERY brief break-in, it works flawlessly. Highl;y advanced design with a thoughtful approach. I removed the clip but had to reattach it because I was getting my finger pinched in the opening spring if not VERY careful. Not dangerous at all, just uncomfortable, so the clip stays. I think it would be better if an alternate piece was included that covers the spring when the clip is removed. SUPER sharp, honed and stropped, this blade is excellent, and I know my blades.

Recently, I took this knife on a month long trekking and kayaking trip through Patagonia. I liked the knife (I wanted a knife with a combo serrated and flat blade which this has), it cut well, was rugged enough, was easy to open and close, and it's not too heavy for backpacking, but it did rust after a day in my lifejacket while kayaking. Good quality, high grade stainless should not rust that quickly in salt water (I know because I am a research diver and have used various grades of stainless steel underwater). I was able to remove the rust with an abrasive, but made sure the knife stayed inside my dry bag for the rest the kayaking portion of my vacation. It did not rust while backpacking, but it did not get/stay wet for long, as it lived inside my dry pack except when I was using it.

A pocket kniife with a one sided case. Different. After getting over my initial thought that a one-sided pocket knife would not adequately support the blade, I am a convert to belieiving the quality of construction adequately addresses the concerns. This is a quality tool which functions quite well. Sharp out of the box with a highly functional blade.
