Tested this out yesterday in the gloom and doom of a spring we midwesterners are having this year. I work landscape, which means unless it's pouring buckets or lightning, we keep at it. This is a great jacket because it is roomy, lightweight, very waterproof and best of all, has extra length in the ... Read More

We took these jackets to the rainforest of Costa Rica and let me tell you, "rainforest" is not just a clever name! It poured!! These jackets kept us dry and were not uncomfortable to wear like vinyl raincoats are. Very packable and comfortable! Highly recommended!

This rain jacket is very good. It is a little less breathable than some more expensive jackets on the market, but is super waterproof and light enough to throw in your day pack for an outing in the mountains.

I ordered this jacket in anticipation of spending a year in a tropical/rainy climate. I can't give any specifics about performance because I'm still in my sunny central Oregon climate, but it seems to be exactly what I'm looking for: lightweight, ventilated, and packable. I can't give 5 stars without knowing more, but my first impression is good.

The fit is large for a woman since it's cut to be unisex, so keep that in mind when you're choosing size. I'm 5'6" and 155 pounds and got a medium. If I wanted a closer fit I would exchange it for a small, but I think that some extra coverage in a downpour jacket is a good thing.

This jacket is a good quality rain jacket. There is no lining in the jacket but there is a lining in the hood. This is a men's sized jacket - I am a female and would usually wear my jackets in Large because I like my jackets roomy. In this jacket I ordered a Small and the sleeves are really long and so is the length of the jacket and it is a little more roomy than I would prefer but I can live with that.

I bought this coat for myself anfd my daughter. We bought it for packing along on hikes and other adventures. We like the fit and weight. There is a chemical smell that leaves after airing the jacket out for a few days.

    • Answer I am 5'8", but heavier. I ordered L And it was plenty roomy. The sleeves were much to long, unisex sized.

I took a simple tuck at the seam of the elastic and it keeps the elastic band in place at my wrist.

I was caught in a hail storm and the jacket kept me dry. Shoes and shorts were soaked!

      Good buy and good quality!

    • Answer Hi
I am make, 5'7" and weigh 160 lbs. a medium is generously sized on me. I would agree with a small for you.
The jacket is long, so it should be okay there too.
Answered on 7/31/2014 4:46:34 PM by JoeC from Chicago
    • Answer I purchased a small and I am 5'4" and 140lbs. This jacket is long in the length and sleeves on me. It is roomy with just a tee shirt on. If you like your fit a little tighter I would go with an extra small. But if you don't mind a roomier jacket the small should fit you a little better than it fits me.
Answered on 7/31/2014 5:16:45 PM by Luckybell from Minnesota
    • Answer I would definitely try the small first. I'm shorter, heavier, and very large-chested (F cup), and the large fits me even with long underwear and a flannel underneath.
Answered on 7/31/2014 5:48:04 PM by Newbie Backpacker from Michigan
    • Answer The only thing I can comment on is try on a Medium Male shirt, if that fits comfortably get a Medium. It is the shoulder distance you may need to look at. The jacket is easy to carry and has a pouch to put it in. I love mine and place it in my backpack for that just in case rain.

    • Answer I am 131 lbs, 5 ft 7" and got the medium. But I like a roomy fit and do not layer either. If you like a mens small, get that, but I think you might be happier with the medium, personally.
Answered on 7/31/2014 6:38:26 PM by RB from CA
    • Answer I would suggest a medium for you. Small may fit for walking, but would limit your range of motion and comfort for biking.

    • Answer I would suggest going a size smaller than you normally would wear in a ladies jacket. If you have a store close by to try on a men's similar style do that. They are pretty true to size. I love mine.

    • Answer I am 5'2" and about 119 lbs. and I got an x-small so I think the small should fit because it is like a men's small.
Answered on 7/31/2014 7:50:13 PM by dby52 from North Carolina
    • Answer Small should work well over a tee or light shirt. If you think you might go heavy sweater, ever, make your decision based on your shoulder width.

    • Answer You'll need a large. Both my girlfriend and I upsized and it was a good thing. She is 5'3" and 140 lbs. A looser fitting jacket will breathe better.

    • Answer I bought this for my son, but I had my wife try it on who is 5'7" and 140 and a fairly athletic build and she said she would buy a small if you don't plan to layer it. Hope this works for you.

    • Answer I would assume the 14 oz includes the stuff sack. In any case, the sack is negligible, about the weight of a handkerchief, so if it's not included, then the total for both would be 14.1 oz or something.

    • Answer This includes the bag that it is packaged in. The jacket is so lite you can barely tell that you have it on. I love mine, I put it in my bass boat on those days when the rain hits you unprepared. You'll love it.
Answered on 3/21/2014 7:12:47 PM by wildbillbilly from Tn.
    • Answer The stuff sack is very small so it probably weighs 2 oz at the most, I don't think it makes much of a difference.
The jacket is pretty light too so I think the jacket weighs 14 oz by itself. That's just slightly under a pound.

    • Answer My only advise to you is, google the company Trespass, ask their customer service department if they have the specs on this jacket.
I have always done this in the past when I need to know more info on a specific measurement for a garment. They will gladly help
you with all your questions because they are helping a future customer, even though you are buying it from somewhere else.
      I hope this helps you.

    • Answer I don't have a number, but it seems very adequate to me. This jacket isn't a long one and the bottom comes right at the hips. There is a cinch cord you could tighten, but I never fool with that. Sorry to be so imprecise.
