I found these to run true-to-size, though they are a bit big in the waist. It is indeed a short spandex short under the mesh. This lining is not at all restrictive, offers good movement, and, most importantly for me, does not ride up. I use them for lifting, running, and CrossFit.

Got them and tried them on and I think the other customers must have been shaped oddly. They fit and feel great! Love the mesh look with the under fabric. I'm happy I purchased them despite the negative reviews which I usually don't do.

I bought these due to the price and the fit is terrible. I am 5' 3' 120lbs. I purchased a size small. They fit on the wasit and when you where them that way they ride up. The fabric under the mesh rides up as well and I am always pulling them down. If you try and where them below the waste the fabric by your crotch sags. Overall, these are not a flattering short and I am returning mine.

I bought these for jogging and aerobics. You can't really tell from the picture, but these are really, really horrible looking when worn. The neon under layer shows more through the black mesh outer layer the closer your body is to the outer. This makes your backside look like two glaring neon cheeks with a dark stripe up the middle. Also, the waist band is too loose, I added my own drawstring to keep them up.

This is a bizarrely made short..it has a mesh overlay short on top of a bike tight-like attached short. It's not real perceivable looking at the picture. Unless you have a very low body percent or are real confident the way your body looks, these aren't the most flattering shorts. If you want a traditional running short, these aren't it!

I'd planned to wear these while running and working out in general, but the waist was too loose, and even trying on the shorts over undies, I could feel that the crotch area was likely going to chafe. There are seams at the front and back of the built-in shorts that aren't placed well. Unfortunately, these are going back.
