I wasn't expecting much, but it was cheap and I tried it - it looks like a straighforward useful book on kayak rolling - nothing exotic or fancy, which is good.

I bought this as a stocking stuffer for son-in-law, but being a kayaker, had to review it. This is really a good read for new kayakers or kayakers who still uncomfortable with their rolls. Well worth the money and more.

You almost know how to roll?
You roll most of the time?

This is a good book for you!

Lots of photos explaining each step, in sequence, so the explanations are made very clear. I was doubtful of a book, compared to a video, but this is great. Also, I can haul it to the water's edge & review elements.

I heard that Kayak rolling is a required skill so I thought with the great deal being offered at Sierra I'd pick it up. It has good info regarding getting comfortable with being underwater and provides instruction on taking steps and going through stages to develop your confidence. It was worth the few bucks.

I flipped through the book and didn't find anything too useful to help me go over roll technique. Probably a video would be more beneficial instead of a book.
