There is nothing like real wool and this product is quality. Just beautiful fabric & construction.
I'm 5'6, 132 lbs, 37-27-37. Medium size is snug and form fitting thru waist and bust,
with a little teeny extra at the hip. I have broad shoulders & this fit! Yay.
I would not be about to wear a sw... Read More

I really prefer wool to synthetics so i had been looking for a zip front wool sweater for a layer when hiking. This jacket is perfect. Lightweight, form fitting, and clearly designed for athletic wear (NOT a fashion sweater), it's exactly the right piece for my needs. Fits me great, really comfy and I just washed it -- it survived. :)

I am 5'4" with broad shoulders, about 128lbs. This jacket has a great fit (runs true to size) and it super cute. The hood fits over my head, which is a great improvement over older models. I will be able to wear it year-round.

This is a very high quality garnet -- good fit and beautiful materials. The only reason I sent it back was that the color was not good on me.

I recently placed an order with lots of Smartwool and Icebeaker gear. Overall, I thought the Smartwool was superior in almost every way, although I do wear lots of icebreaker base layers. This excellent jacket was an exception. The cut, weight, fabric and finish were really perfect. Somehow it was very fitted and flattering while being roomy enough to very comfortably fit another top underneath. I'm actually sending it off to a daughter at college, but after trying it on I really didn't want to take it off and am about to order myself one in another color. The blue we ordered seems to be sold out but it was a lovely color.

  • Question “Is the Lush color a traditional red or closer to a rust color?”

    • Answer This is a red than it is a rust color.

    • Answer I bought the blue one, so don't know the answer to that. The more I wear this jacket, the more I like it. A great between season jacket

    • Answer I think it's proportionally long for the size, tho my GF is tall (+/- 5'-10"). Pretty sure I got her the Medium size and it fits her lanky body.
STP has a friendly return/exchange policy for members any way- so try your normal size and size up if it doesn't work.

    • Answer I don't have a tape measure handy but they're fairly long. I'm 5'4" with average length arms and bought a size large, and before washing the sleeves came down to mid-finger on me when I pulled them straight. I would say that's about 4-5 inches past my wrist, so there's a fair bit of extra length there. I ended up throwing the jacket in the dryer (I don't think this is recommended but I wanted to shrink it in length) and both the torso and sleeves shrunk up about an inch. So be aware of that if you decide to keep it. Overall it's a great jacket!

    • Answer Awesome hood if you like them like a helmet .... which I do for this jacket. I can wear it under a hat for extra wind and cold protection on my neck and ears. Zipper comes to just the right place under my chin. Doesn't choke at all. Definitely stays up while exercising. Helpful hint: I now realize that the first jacket I bought like this was from the old line and it fits perfectly. However, now that I am trying to purchase a second one, I have learned that Icebreaker has changed their sizing. The new medium makes me look like I have a third breast; the zipper gaps up between my two real ones. Also, the new medium has a bigger waist and doesn't fit well. I tried the new small which winded up fitting like the old medium except the sleeves are too short. I wish Icebreaker sizing could be more reliable.

    • Answer A quote from the young woman from Bend, OR who wears it: "The hood is well fitted and will stay up even in the wind." Hope this helps.

    • Answer The hood isn't super snug but if you zip the jacket up all the way, it's not too loose.
Hope this helps. Sorry for the delayed response.

  • Question “what's the difference between black (01) and black (03)? Also, does this have thumb slits?”
Asked on 10/13/2013 2:49:50 AM by chilly from vermont
    • Answer Side by Side I could not see a real difference. 01 may be a bit flatter than 03 (bit more shine).

    • Answer This would be a good choice. It is water resistant to where it would keep you dry in a short light rain shower.
